So close! RHY, it goes without saying that your efforts are the only thing that has kept this dream alive. I've seen this project go through hell and back for the past 5 years, and I'm glad to see it finally taking a tangible form.

Incredible. Moving ahead, will there be any need for a subscription/startup fee, donations to purchase/maintain a server, or anything of the sort? I'm sure many of us would love to contribute to any costs like that.

I can't possibly charge anyone anything for this. I'm not opening up any donations until the server actually exists, and I have some idea of how much it will cost to run it. If it does happen, all costs will be made completely transparent and available on the blog.

We've got a weird set of requirements. Disk space and RAM aren't really much of an issue. Here's the planned configuration:

City + DB: Large server with lots of storage and bandwidth. CPU not as important.
Lot (1..n): Minimal storage (5gb), cpu very important to simulate lots. Since all lots run the same content, we only need about 2 GB RAM to sufficiently hold all game content and a reasonable number (100?) of runtime lots.

I'll likely go with digital ocean for a while. Will likely be on the $20 per month plan per lot server, which would mean 8 cores at $80. It's certainly worth looking into at which point dedicated solutions become a better idea, but because the lot servers are horizontally scalable we should utilise that as much as possible.

I'll run city and lot on the same server initially. I can't make any significant investments myself, so scaling past a single $20 a month server would need a donations setup.

    Gotcha.
Almost anything at OVH is going to be enough to do what you're talking about, and more.

About remove objects from romies owner of the lot is able to "steal" those objects or claim the property??

No... Roommates objects are always returned to them when they're deleted, or when the person moves out. I already stated this.

    Calm down!!

It's in the Global Server, so probably once a Closed/Open Beta happens (if ever) you can test it then :)

Can you explain me what is this about? organize inventory items in category is possible??

In TSO, certain categories permitted certain objects. for example, Vibrating Beds, were only permitted on Residential, Service and Romance lots. Whilst objects like the Dance Floor or DJ Booth were restricted to Entertainment lots.

Placing objects that weren't part of the lot (like the DJ Booth on a money lot) would make the object unusable.

Amazing work! Will there be a public build before the release?

RHY whoever you are, you have no idea what this means to me to be able to experience TSO again. Thank you. I would be thrilled to be able to donate some funds towards the cost of servers.
