But, the server is down, because it doesn't let me enter.

Should I keep trying to register until it goes through? Some people are able to register but I still get the unknown error even tho I wait a few mins before I try again.

I believe the game isn't officially open yet. If you try to register in-game it gives you this pop-op

I got a question: how is EA going with FreeSO? could they shut it down? I don't want my heart to be broken!

Their server cannot handle the load. So it's either they put a queue in, have people register 1 by 1 or replace their current hardware. Replacing hardware can take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks.

There are overloading issues atm some have been able to register some havent, just gotta retry every now and then

Fair use policy
On its own, the FreeSO client does not display any copyrighted material, and is not distributed with it. The game files are provided by the user, and the client simply reads the files the user provides. In this sense, our replacement client is essentially a glorified The Sims Online™ file reader, as all original graphics, sounds, UI layouts and game objects are simply read and simulated by the client.

The game server transmits metadata generated from the execution of these scripts (avatar money values, lot/object state, avatar appearances, hash of game files for version identification) but does not transmit any copyrighted material either.

We will not accept any code or content that violates the policy above in our repo.
