Fun Objects needed!

Now that I've had a chance to experience the game (outside of sandbox mode) I find myself appalled at the lack of fun objects. Thinking back we DID tend to rely on interactions on my little TSO lot so I guess I didn't really notice then. Or perhaps it was because it was TSO beta and I just sort assumed tons more was added once it became EA-Land. I dunno. All I know is that ... and this isn't actually fair but it is what it is ... I am starting to hate that laptop's silly face!

We need custom goodies in a variety of themes! I had a lot of ideas when was logging out of FreeSO last night but having slept I woke to realize they are pretty... meh.
Do you guys have any ideas ont he subject? I know we don't have a ton of people who know Simantics but, frankly, it is really quite simple and Rhys' program makes it even easier to use (provided you remember to label everything sensibly. Otherwise you can get a little tangled up. But it is still not impossible. I've been muddling through for over 10 years with no labels and I've hardly killed anyone out of frustration.)

I went to sleep with many impractical ideas to suggest we try but .. impractical is impractical! So figured I'd post-n-prompt ... anyone else have any Fun Object ideas that we might be able to make? Something not computer or tv (as those are covered) ... except for the Movie Theater that someone requested Alessandro make (on Discord). I think that as a set would be an excellent addition ... maybe actual ticket sales to generate income?

My brain works in TS1-ese so to me ticket sales would mean making a token to represent the purchased ticket and adapting the doors (or making specific theater doors) that only admit someone who has a ticket (consuming the ticket when they enter? or starting a timer to self deletion once they enter). Oh... better idea... the ticket allows the sims to gain the motive increase when watching the movie. Or doubles the motive increase. (If you sneak a peek at the movie you can gain a small amount of fun but if you buy a ticket then you green up faster.) BUT I have no clue if the tokens inventory system works so all of that may not be applicable to FreeSO.

Anyhoo, just one suggestion tossed out there. And still fits into the same "oooh screens are FUN!" mentality a bit. Any other suggestions? Any other themes that need some fun-object love?

Is it not working? I saw it in the buymode catalog and assumed it did.

The band object (and any object with one of those mini game dialog boxes) is beyond what I could help with.

The band object is not a fun object, it's a group job object. By design, it lowers the fun motive.

I agree that the fun situation is pretty bad. I don't know why TV is much worse than pool ingame, but I'm also inclined to agree on a personal level. There's also the bubble blower object, but it is quite expensive and I don't see many people using it for some reason. (despite it being hilarious)

We tried the bubble blower out a bit on Party Island last night, but I think we were too green to tell how much of an effect it actually had on social and fun so I am hoping to get a better look at it next time. I love it. (And think they look much better planted in gardens than the skill objects I usually see LOL)

You could try some custom objects made to Sims 1, maybe those could work...

Yes, with the permission of those creators. Kate (Parsimonious) is the only one I got permission from. A lot of her more spectacular items require animations we don't have available to us (Superstar and Making Magic).
And VERY little of my own stuff ( has got has value in TSO since the hacks tend to be about balancing TS1 out rather than bringing entirely new things into the game.
I am trying to get a hold of Marlo (Aponee Simz), as well. People always over look her for some reason, but she's got some stellar stuff and everything was free to clone. I am positive they could be used for FreeSO, but am looking to have that confirmed.

If we are thinking non-unique items then what I'd love to see if UL's fishing pier adapted for TSO along with other outdoorsy activities.Vacation has a to of fun activities, but I don't recall seeing any of them bundled in with TSO. If the animations are in there, we could make our own versions of some of those things.

EDIT: For the record I have double checked and the fishing animations are NOT bundled in with the TSO files.

Unless you can make high sims fly (like from TS2), add some quirky affect thing to it. Maybe sims start to literally swim on land (like you do with moveobjects_on dragging sims from the pool). Oh I thought of something - sky diving similator animation can makes sims levitate and hover/float.

The sky diving animations are not in the TSO files. None of the Superstar or Magkin' Magic (/Hokus Pokus) animations are available.
