    Hamachi is just as dangerous if someone knows the name and password.

    But at least that way you can give certain people permission to join that way without just opening the Ports to anyone who stumbles upon it. That and Hamachi and Tunngle have been the ONLY success i've had when it comes to people joining my servers in any game.

    Sweet! I always have a lot off problems with portforwarding (however it always magically seems to work after shouting at my PC, huehue) but that program sounds really handy!

    We totally need a community-maintained playtest server list.

    Hey I know this is in the wrong place, But i have no idea where or how to get to the RIGHT place but, I cant even play TSO at all. I downloaded, TSO, Project Dollhouse, OpenAl, and deleted tso.world.dll BUT it prompts me to sign in when I click on Project Dollhouse and Idk what to do because I have no active TSO account so I just made a username and password up and hit OK but nothing happened, it just said loading 25% percent and did nothing. It didn't crash, it just acted like I did nothing. When i press on that simantics world DEBUG i go into a TSO like world with one active lot, and no other online players, just a Bob and a few nameless townies. The bob also has no plumbob and Build/Buy mode are not useable. Pressing the debug on the main TSO new and improved, or "Sims world" screen whatever you wanna call it, makes the game crash. I have literally no idea what I'm supposed to do... Am i supposed to use my forum account or make a new account on the login screen? Can i use an old EA account?! HELP, I ALWAYS WANTED TO PLAY TSO BUT I NEVER EVEN FOUND OUT ABOUT IT TIL LIKE 2009..

    The newer version doesn't use Project Dollhouse.exe anymore so that's basically the first your doing wrong here lol. It's good you installed it though so that means you already got XNA 3.1 and BASS.net ready to go.
    Now first off go back to the homepage and to the middle right of the page you should see a section called "servo builds" click on the tiny button that says "artifacts" then on the next page click "login as guest". Now click on the "dist-98.zip" to download it. keep it mind that's the version number which could change to dist-99 or dist-100 by the end of the week. We seem to get an update every other day now which is pretty good. Now when that's done downloading open up the .zip and extract all the files inside your "C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims Online\TSOClient" folder. The TSOClient folder is pretty much where you extract these new version files whenever the version changes, like I was saying earlier it could change from 98 to 99 really soon. It's pretty much how you update the game at moment. Last but not least make a shortcut to "FreeSO.exe" run as admin and your good to go and should bootup to a create a sim screen. After that you'll find yourself at the city menu and you can double-click on empty lot or one of restaurant job or robot factory job lots to build in by going to the "top 100 list". Just double click on the xml file in the "100 list" to start that lot. Be sure to click the "save house" button at the upper right corner of the screen to save often while building your house, in-case it crashes at random like it always at the menu's. Whatever house you choose to save should show up as "house_00.xml" later in-case you get lost on that part. This is how you can choose to revisit the house you saved or even visit ones you downloaded from the "blueprints" section of the forum. Can also tell you how to connect to a server later. :D

    Where is this "Servo Builds" thing you're talking about, I have no idea what "homepage" you mean either..

    Also, i have no idea where these files you keep referring to are, I can't find a FreeSO.exe anywhere, or any "xml" files..

    Fullscreen has been implemented for a while. I'm working on a server list program with Pisarz which will hopefully be done soon.
    To access fullscreen, there are 2 ways:
    Launch with the parameters "[width]x[height] f"
    Or change your config file (freeso.exe.config) to say:
    Code:
                <setting name="Windowed" serializeAs="String">
                    <value>False</value>
                </setting>

    Instead of
    Code:
                <setting name="Windowed" serializeAs="String">
                    <value>True</value>
                </setting>

    Yes, to connect to someone go here http://forum.freeso.org/threads/playtest-server-list.810/#post-12247 then scroll all the way up, then pick an "IP" to copy/paste. To connect you simply launch the game, click the check box to get past the create a sim screen then click the "search" button at the city menu and either type in or paste the IP into that bar then click on "exact match" If it get's stuck at 0% that means the server's down but if it jumps to 25% that means it's up and you just have to wait a little bit for it to connect. LetsRaceBwoi was kind enough to make that list of people we know that occasionally host servers so far, you can ask around if anybody else is willing to host one as well. Could use mine but that would require Tunngle or Hamachi, has my computer doesn't seem to ever agree with simple port-forwarding. Those programs pretty much do it for ya. Hope I was of some help :)
