TSO Pre-Alpha Messaging Function

    So, I've been experementing with TSO Pre-Alpha's messaging function.

    And experement, I did!

    I found out there are 6 types of messages.

    Type 0: Maxis logo, red inbox text if unread.
    Type 1: Maxis logo, yellow inbox text if unread.
    Type 2: TSO logo, blue inbox text if unread.
    Type 3: Letter icon, peach inbox text if unread.
    Type 4: Admin icon?, green inbox text if unread.
    Type 5: House icon, pink inbox text if unread.

    I'm not fully sure what each (I'm not sure about Icon 4 as well...) colour reperesent. If anyone knows, please let me know!

    Here's a screenshot with all tyes of messages in the game, not read. (Keep in mind that this is PRE-ALPHA!)


    I'm working on Pre-Alpha for NIOTSO + Project Dollhouse, in case anyone was wondering!

    EDIT: The one that is highlighted is Type 6 and above. the only difference is that the text is underneath the highlighted option bar.

    Just a quick note: I didn't show you a glitch with types 0, 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6.

    It's the same glitch, but text should be on the message box, but there is no text, and you can't close the message box unless you quit and start the game again.

    I'm not sure what causes this, but At least now I don't have to do any coding...yet...

    Hey Blayer98 where have u got the The Sims Online Pre-Alpha Version from?

    No problem!
    This is real, and I've gone ahead and done the types of messages, and there's a bug where you can't close the message window for types 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6.

    It isn't publicly available (only from a specific source).
    The Pre-Alpha is really only intended for distribution amongst developers, but said source told me that Blayer nagged him until he got it.
    Please realize that the Pre-Alpha isn't playable, and isn't even usable for anything except developers analyzing Edith and Hitlab.

    Please, no more nagging about getting one's hands on the Pre-Alpha, or I'll have to close this thread.

    When did I nag him? Lol he asked me! Anyway, Like Afro said, please don't ask, and the files take ages to download, so please don't ask. Thanks!

    Remember that I've only put this video up to show gameplay and the messaging systems. You've seen all progress so far anyway.

    I'm thinking if I can fix the bug with the other types.

    But i will be interesting to have this pre alpha version to compare game references with the project dollhouse and be able to know how it was supposed to work...

    Agreed. And to see what TSO was like in the first place, back in 2001 or whenever it was.
