I successfully installed the Sims Online onto my computer (at least the files). I ran through the installation and exited out of the installation once it was 100% complete considering you can't exactly connect to EA's online servers with this game anymore. However, I am unsure where to go from here. What is the next step? I feel kinda stupid for asking this.
Install OpenAL. Download FreeSO: http://servo.freeso.org/viewLog.htm...ifacts&buildTypeId=ProjectDollhouse_TsoClient (Login as guest) Unpack somewhere (it could be anywhere, tbh). Run FreeSO.exe Create your character. Either put server address in the search field in game and press star button or choose one of the available lots to play offline. Am I missing anything?
Thank you for this. When downloading OpenAL, do I just download the first link that pops up (there was no download for it on the latest release bit, unless the Source Code is OpenAL)? I know you have to delete the world.dll file Also, are there any actual servers to play on or is it all just offline right now?
https://www.openal.org/downloads/oalinst.zip That world.dll part... I think it was quite a long time ago.
Oh, forgot about packingslips. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12239448/packingslips.rar Extract this directly to TSOClient folder.
Thank you so much. Although everyone's faces are missing and a few bugs seem to be present, everything should be okay. I think there was some info about servers before. I tried connecting to servers but does it always take this long?
Correction: you can see through their faces even though you can see the faces (the game is playable, though). Saying they were missing wasn't a good choice of words. I just assume the faces missing is part of it considering.
Only on the pie menu, which is an issue with the lack of z-buffer on UI sims right now. They're not really "missing" their face, it's just self obstructing.
Is there a place to find servers open servers to play on? I also was lost at this point and it's nice to know I can enter a server address, but I dunno who's running one
