Hello Please always leave screenshots of the problem when you're having issues so we know what exactly you are referring to. If you're having trouble updating FreeSO from inside the game, you can download https://beta.freeso.org/dist and extract it to your FreeSO folder manually.

Then just do a manual update: Extract https://beta.freeso.org/dist to your FreeSO folder.

When it says "The installer will now start", the game closes and the extractor opens up. You might not see it as it may start minimized. But it is doing something. Just wait until the game restarts itself after updating. You're running the game before it finished updating!

You are trying to launch the game from the launcher. Not the launcher itself. Try changing 'Graphics Mode' in your launcher settings to OpenGL.
