    XML is actually pretty good (known this by my basic knowledge from Civilization 5 and 4) at keeping certain data like that. Given all houses are saved within that seems somewhat logical to assume it may be used to store that data for the time being.

    Long shot, but turn off your anti-virus. I noticed avast! conflicts and will refuse to launch IDE. Altough you get a specific error, trying launching it without antivirus shields on.

    I had the same issue with sprites, I even loaded my Meditation Mat and the thing once again disappeared in the object viewer and I had to somehow re-do the object graphics :/

    Task 2 is mostly about "recoloring" an object. Task 5/4 is more about creating a brand new object with custom sprites if possible (or just doing a recolor like I did)

    I think the reason why your sprite is off is due to the lighting. Put it in a well lit room and see if it looks "the same".

    That's why they're dropped when you leave a lot. At least in TSO that was the case (and I'm sure it's giong to be patched in eventually). Because the object is unique to the lot so when you leave the lot then it has no where to go. You arrive empty handed (literally) when you go to a different lot.
