Your right I meant to just say sound card, my GPU is fine, i've upgraded everything on my PC about a month ago except the core, and a Quad Core...
Soo i went back and tested every older version of the game there was and almost pinpointed exactly when my game started having more crashing issues...
just right click on the shortcut to the game then click properties and where you see Target: "C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims...
Annnd updates later and my mine still has no sound. It stopped working somewhere after the first May update release.
I got the sound to work using the -dx command but now when I click the checkbox after character creation I end up with this: [IMG]
I can launch the game fine with the current build, but with the last two so far i've had no sound, what do I do to fix that?

I already had OpenAL installed, but deleting the .dll file worked. Thanks! :D :D :D
