Help me please

Hey so I recently made an account on FreeSO, I go to buy my sim a plot to build a house on. But I can't because it says I have no money. So I'm not sure what to do and I'm kinda just stuck there, I can't even have my sim get a job. Does anyone know how to fix this or what's going on? It might be obvious but I just don't know, and I'd really appreciate some help, please and thank you!

You can visit other lots for now. Skill lots will be especially useful for you. They usually offer free use of objects for greening up (increasing your motives) and will have objects that allow you to increase your skills.

If they have a computer or newspaper you can use them to get a job but be aware that the nightclub isn't working so do not accept that job. Your jobs wont pay very much money though if your skills are not up to par. (I am also told the payout is currently lower than it should be) You may earn more money going to money lots and using the object there. Once again higher skills will get you more money.

You can also try finding someone who needs a roommate and move in with them. You can move out again later on (along with any furniture you paid for while you were there) when/if you are ready to get your own place. You'll want to find out what they expect from a roommate first. Some, for instance, might expect you to help out "with the business". Others are just offering to share their space.

You also want to find and visit Party Island. That is the Community Lot. Even if it is closed, it'll open just for you . The one downside is that you may not have anything to eat but snacks from the vending machine. But everything else is there to check out and explore.
