about rabbit in TS1 series

If they added a 3d model for the rabbit, it would need its own skeleton and animation rigging. Also, I don't think the animation code in TS1 was built to scale like TS2's.

so this only one be lazy in TS1 because other NPC animals use 3D model, only rabbit is 2D
XD

Not to mention, it also probably shares a lot of code with the mice which also are 2D. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if the bunnies and the mice are defined in the same iff file and are inherited from the cockroach object. So it just made sense to save time and effort and recycle these old objects. This is just speculation, but looking at the object files might yield some more answers.

The snakes and toads from Magin' Magic are also 2D, along with the fish, guinea pig, turtle, birds, the iguana and the parrots that you can buy as pets.

Oh and I nearly forgot to mention the frogs and ducks that spawn in the water and our beloved flies.

Rabbits are based off ducks. A lot of the BHAVs still have "duck" in the name... Not sure if ducks are based off of anything else. These objects generally use all the same methods to move between tiles - place a reserved tile in the destination and slowly Snap position in tile increments to the destination location. The reserve tile has a special "allow intersection" tree to let only the owner object move into it.

Roaches don't use a reserve tile as they are non-solid. The robots in the robot factory don't either, but they stop and wait if one of the Snaps fails.
