Build 204 is here! Let's see what you can make with pools. ;) (or experiment with PIFFs, if you're into that kind of thing!)

Good work with this, the patch IFF files will be allow to change all chunks?? also the chunks changes will be only made temporaly??

The changes can be made to any chunk, and do not affect the original files. They are applied when the game starts.

Rhy's working on bringing all these features.

Yes, there will be custom content at some point but it will mostly be present on private servers only.
The Official server will surely stay true to the original game just enhanced - stuff like multistory buildings and multiple lot ownership(the former is already in I think).
Think of it like TSO Remastered. Mostly adding stuff that you wouldn't even notice at first just small changes that make the game that much better.
Special CC items during Holidays is something to be expected I guess :)
If this vision has changed I'm sure Rhy can further elaborate on this subject.

Now this sounds great to me. Adding in things that are actually beneficial and not just random stuff that changes the way TSO was.

We won't add "just random stuff". I do have some dignity... The GIFs of various hilarious modifications are only there to show very clearly that the object has been modified, and that the technology works. Real modified objects should be more subtle, or serve a purpose.

Anyways, the build that fixes kiosks and the bubble blower is now up.

This might have already been answered, if so, I apologize. With talk about connecting to different servers within the game, I am not sure I quite understand it. When all is said and done, is it going to be like a MMO again or more like a private multiplayer thing where you just play with friends?

It's gonna be like an MMO again. That part just isn't ready yet. However, since anyone can make copy of FSO, it's possible to have private, less populated, servers too.

Oh I am patient. Specially seeing all the hard work going into this. I check the forums almost daily for updates and whatnot. This was my favorite game back in the day. Really looking promising. I can't wait to play again. Keep up the great work, everyone working on this!

Yeah, my favorite thing about TSO was just logging in, heading to a skilling house and starting up for the afternoon.

There are so many aspects I miss from that game. The casinos, the pizza game, the stores, trying for rare pets, I might even be 1 of only people to say this, but I miss the jobs lol. But most of all I miss just joining a skill or money house and just socializing with everyone. I don't know about everyone else, but I would gladly pay to play this game again.

I loved going to the robot factory ... my friends and I were at the top level, I miss this game so much ... I'm hoping it lives up to it's past ;)

To clarify better, are you saying that you will not allow custom objects that do not have a purpose like fixing current objects bugs, or adding needed sims antics code for the engine testing?

He's saying custom objects won't just be random and will serve a purpose, I think.
