Blue Rose Classic

Working on passing parameters from the launcher to the game, like in the original.
not exactly difficult, but ok
Only because he is announcing what he is working on next, he means that it is a difficult task? WTF is your problem he didnt even say so. You honestly are the last person on earth to make comments like that. Just leave zc456 alone, especially if you dislike his projects. Which are by far better then yours were.

Blue Rose just became 10x more useful. The update feature finally works!!! It'll now download and extract the latest builds of FreeSO without you even having to TeamCity! Although it's consider an "updater," it also acts as an online installer. For safety, it'll also disable play and developer buttons until all unpacking is complete.

Cool! Will the "DONE! Wait, nope, still verifying" tags appear in this? :p

Very nice work. I'll see what I can do with the auto builds to maybe resolve bass.dll and openal issues. (package in game folder)

Yikes! The stable download may not actually update but the beta does get the zip with instructions since it didn't have the unpacking functions. The latter was an early prototype. Looking into where I messed up now.

Not yet. :p

Also, you could make sure the player has the game files already (verify game installation), and have them specify where they keep the game files at...

  1. The verification would probably come during the city server and simulator merge since Rhy's updates are far too frequent, at the moment, to keep track of in contrast to Afr0's waiting until the next century method.
  2. I'll point my installer to The Sims Online's folder instead. Though in Windows 8.1 and above, FreeSO's location no longer matters based on my experience.

After several frustrating hours... I give you updates/install!

Looks nice. I honestly would prefer if not the whole website would be shown in the launcher (since that can be easily accessed in a browser) rather just the blog section or the thread "Road to Live Release" itself.

It's better if it is, then you don't have to open the browser, then look at it again via the luancher, and it also makes for a good opportunity for any updates or alerts you've missed.

Me too now that the updater works. Glad we're all in agreement. xD Well, as of this message you can now update the launcher too from a new WIP about window. So you no longer have to come to this thread to get new builds. It downloads the same zip files as the ones linked here so everyone is always on the latest version, regardless of method used to download.
