Now that I've had a chance to experience the game (outside of sandbox mode) I find myself appalled at the lack of fun objects. Thinking back we DID tend to rely on interactions on my little TSO lot so I guess I didn't really notice then. Or perhaps it was because it was TSO beta and I just sort assumed tons more was added once it became EA-Land. I dunno. All I know is that ... and this isn't actually fair but it is what it is ... I am starting to hate that laptop's silly face!
We need custom goodies in a variety of themes! I had a lot of ideas when was logging out of FreeSO last night but having slept I woke to realize they are pretty... meh.
Do you guys have any ideas ont he subject? I know we don't have a ton of people who know Simantics but, frankly, it is really quite simple and Rhys' program makes it even easier to use (provided you remember to label everything sensibly. Otherwise you can get a little tangled up. But it is still not impossible. I've been muddling through for over 10 years with no labels and I've hardly killed anyone out of frustration.)
I went to sleep with many impractical ideas to suggest we try but .. impractical is impractical! So figured I'd post-n-prompt ... anyone else have any Fun Object ideas that we might be able to make? Something not computer or tv (as those are covered) ... except for the Movie Theater that someone requested Alessandro make (on Discord). I think that as a set would be an excellent addition ... maybe actual ticket sales to generate income?
My brain works in TS1-ese so to me ticket sales would mean making a token to represent the purchased ticket and adapting the doors (or making specific theater doors) that only admit someone who has a ticket (consuming the ticket when they enter? or starting a timer to self deletion once they enter). Oh... better idea... the ticket allows the sims to gain the motive increase when watching the movie. Or doubles the motive increase. (If you sneak a peek at the movie you can gain a small amount of fun but if you buy a ticket then you green up faster.) BUT I have no clue if the tokens inventory system works so all of that may not be applicable to FreeSO.
Anyhoo, just one suggestion tossed out there. And still fits into the same "oooh screens are FUN!" mentality a bit. Any other suggestions? Any other themes that need some fun-object love?
