I did it.
The Kon Tiki milestone has now been released in the form of the client, which can be found here.
I won't consider the milestone as having been fully reached before we go live, but right now I'm too tired to even think about that.
nicefunfungirl found a bug in the client. Nothing significant - I had forgotten to include some files. You can either download the new installer that I made or download the files here and add them to TSOClient\packingslips.
Rhys found a bug in the installer. Two, actually. I fixed them both. The most important one being that it didn't create needed directories and thus didn't install needed files.

If you're interested in the historical significance behind the milestone's name, consider buying this fine book or this fine movie.

Apologies for the lateness, I'm still hoping to go live before or by New Year's Eve, but no promises this time. If there are any brave souls wanting to test the client right now, they can get the server sourcecode from the repository. But it is still unstable.

Please let me know if you can't start the client for any reason...

OMG EEEEEEK! WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS,I FREAKED OUT SOO MUCH AND I JUST COULDN'T CONTROL MYSELF OMG!!! ITS DONE DOWNLOADING IM GONNA JUST OMG!!! :D

OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH... ITS FINALLY HERE!!! AFR0, RIGHT NOW YOU ARE RANKED FOURTH BEST PERSON ON THE WORLD - THANK YOU SO MUCH (once I get my new computer up and running, Ill be able to run it twice the speed of my (not the laptop - that's shit) other computer.

Captain Edward Smith: Sigh, I probably should have mentioned - don't run PDPatcher. It hasn't been updated for ages, and contains bug(s). I only included it because I couldn't be bothered to remove it from the installer. It shouldn't do anything harmful to your TSO installation though.
I just looked through the code again, and it shouldn't. If it didn't finish, it should have just downloaded a bunch of files to a folder called "PatcherTmp". If it did finish, it should roll back the update, because some file was incorrectly downloaded (this is a bug).

nicefunfungirl: Thanks! You reminded me there are some additional files that need to be installed! I'll get to that right away. If you want to be on the safe side of things, you should probably also go into TSOClient\üigraphics\fonts\ and install "simdialogue-uni-game.ttf".

It still hasn't worked. D: and also i myself ran PDPatcher by accident not knowing this.
But anyways i installed simdialogue-un-game.ttf with the right click and install

can somebody can write out detailed step-by-step instructions for how to install this? or is it already posted somewhere? >_<

nicefunfungirl: Problem solved! See the original post! :)
aquarius: What? Exactly what is it you don't understand? Download the installer and run it.

Just noticed it on GitHub.

Great job Afr0! It's time to get TSO installed again apparently. :)

I ran into a few problems using the installer...
For a start, it said both the installers for BASS.NET and XNA "could not be opened", so it failed to install them. I installed them, the packing slips and the font manually, but the program still crashes on startup after a 1-2 second wait.

I updated the installer again. It should work this time! It wasn't creating the directories it needed to, and didn't install needed files (it is possible that it put the files in the Content folder).

You can either uninstall and the reinstall using the new installer, or check that your Content folder contains "TerrainSplat.xnb" and "TerrainSplat2.xnb". They should go into a new folder, "Content\Effects".
Then check that the Content folder contains "ProjectDollhouse.otf" and "ProjectDollhouse_10px.xnb", "ProjectDollhouse_12px.xnb", "ProjectDollhouse_14px.xnb" and "ProjectDollhouse_16px.xnb". These should go into "Content\Fonts"

It's still crashing, it might be missing a dll or something. Here's what the installer outputs (when answering no to install prompts):

When I launch TSOClient and attempt to log in, I get "game authentication is experiencing technical difficulties"

When I launch Project Dollhouse Client I get "TSOClient has stopped working"

What am I doing wrong? I installed the packing slips.

The client isn't working right at the moment. You should always use the Project Dollhouse client as the normal TSOClient will try to connect to the old servers which are offline.

I am having the TSOClient Has Stopped Working again! I don't know what i've done wrong! I've installed the original game. Those 2 (or 3 i believe) things required and needed to have installed,Installed that file under the uigraphics\fonts and also used the updated installer + just incase i manually put the packingslips in TSOClient as well. And then i go to the Project Dollhouse Client.exe,Run it,And i still get the crash! Run As Administrator,And it still crashes!!!

Edit:Omg! I tried the whole fix up there involving fonts and effects folder and where those files SHOULD'VE gone,Went to the client,Ran as administrator and it ran! But how do i log in? Is there some sort of place we're going to sign up at? Or will it use our forum accounts for it? (as that seems redicoulous)
