Very cool, it's really great to see the amount of thought that went behind the most memorable objects in the game. Even that dog bath is iconic... the sims is a pretty weird game.

That's so cool! I remember that i always built rollercoasters, and then when i played I found out that it does not have to be a complete course <.<

Some of the concept art / pre-release screens actually look similar to the style and colours used in The Sims 2:

The first image also looks a lot like the TSO pre-release (alpha?) city view. Which probably means that they were considering the style for a while.

I FORGOT HOW TO SIM. I'm really glad they didn't went with any of these early UI's to be honest, they just look bad (mostly).

The real UI looks pretty bad as well. TSO got it right I think.

I do not mind The Sims interface. Still I find it much better than the one in The Sims 2. On the other hand, the one from TS2 is still better than from The Sims 4 (at least it looks so in pictures).
And I like TS3 interface.
