Sims 2 multiplayer design

While I'm rewriting the libraries Sims 1 and some parts of Sims 2 uses, if I were to remake Sims 2's engine, I would want to an add an multiplayer expansion. Because, ever sine Sims Online, even Sims 3 gets quite lonely after a while. So, the discussion is this: how would the that online expansion be designed? I can imagine it having some elements from Sims Online, such as the map, though that's all I can think of. :B

You're rewriting TSO and TS2 now? o_O

Anyway... since this is in the Programming forum, I'm guessing you want a technical rundown? I suggest you use TCP, because it'll save you a ton of headaches, and a game like TSO (or TS2) won't need UDP. The gameplay simply isn't fast enough.
Other than that... network programming in Go seems really easy (and fun!) I might port GonzoNet to Go, eventually.

Cool, a multiplayer expansion for TS2 o_O.
It would be great to remake the TS2 engine, you could do anything with it.

I can see all the fun in TS2.... Here's all my ideas for The Sims 2 Multiplayer!

1)No change in gameplay,Apsolutely every feature in Main game supported in multiplayer.
2)Be able to interact with your friend's sims to actually become friends *POSSIBLE LOVERS! O_O* *But i don't expect it since not many females are on this forum like me.. :l But worth it*
3)Drive around town in cars together *Cab* driving to each other's houses. But honestly,To me,For something like that,I'd prefer TS3 cause there'd be no loading times. instant map loading.. But still,TS2 works.
4)Depending on your expansion packs you have installed *Besides,I don't use stuff packs* Nightlife features and stuff are enabled Like there can be a menu,to where if you have the expansion packs installed,You can check off boxes for installed expansion packs for extra usage. So those without say nightlife, can't go to certain places nightlife involved. (Downtown) And then well, etc.

This whole "porting The Sims 2 online" sounds like an incredibly large (and difficult) job. To be honest I don't think I'd actually want to play TS2 online, the simplicity of TSO is something I appreciate in online games.

But I don't know much if anything about coding, so if you think you're capable go wild ^_^

Sims 2 in online looks interesting, but how it's be work??
Something like San Andreas: Multiplayer??
Something like san andreas multiplayer???
Wtf do you excatly mean?

If you mean that he would make it like project doll house like that you need to have original game files and project doll house application inside orignal game folder to play it. Then it would be like San Andreas Multiplayer.

1)Yeah, but some new features would be cool
2)Yep, but a lot of females like TS, and there are gay people...
3)Nice idea
4)Hmm... I don't know

If it like san andreas mp, there will be gameplay changes, becuase they need to remove some things, to allow users only control a sim and interact with other player sims, no more neighbors and other ambience stuff...

I've dropped New Sims 2, that'll be reverse engineering Sims 2 to make stuff like this possible. But! I will keep this discussion in mind in case I decide to bring it back later.
