In Minecraft, if you die, you re-spawn but may loose some valuables. In hardcore mode, when you die, you're dead. Game over. You had a good, long, challenging life. In The Sims, if your playing a single Sim, and they die, it's game over (at least in that home), same is true if the whole family dies. Following Minecrat standards, The Sims is considered hardcore. Think about that.
