Guys, please stop measing around with your registries. We fixed the issue by building the patcher in 32-bit only, but haven't released it yet. Give afr0 a minute to formally release it.

I wouldn't call it "messing around" its just adding a new entry to the registry! The System doesn't really cares about it and since it contains exactly the same things as the one the TSO Installer creates its just fine! :D

But great to hear you guys fixed that bug :)

It's just that the registry isn't exactly the safest thing to be manually modifying without knowing how it works. Also, if any of you MOVE the key instead of copying it, you'd need to move it back for the fixed version/using the installer again.

Yes thats true but since I had a... "great" relationship with the registry back in my Windows days, i know quite a bit about it ^^
You can't just move the key that results in the same "No Maxis product found" error! So if it is working they did really nothing wrong and are save to use the new patch. :)

Well, you could if you thought the old one was in the wrong place and deleted it afterwards. It's always best to assume someone might try something unorthodox, so you can avoid problems in the future...

The servers seem to be down...

thank you Rhy :)

Yep, servers are down, but will be back up shortly. :)
Like Rhys said, we built the updater as a 32bit app. That should hopefully fix registry issues, if you guys will manage to run it at all?
Perhaps it is 32bit systems that can't run 64bit apps, and not the other way round. Hmm...

Servers are back up, here is the latest version of the updater. It should hopefully fix registry issues on 64bit systems, though now that you've all copied the key, I think it's going to be hard to determine...

Team, I just did something just out of curiosity - In my C: drive I have 2 Program Files options (I Have Win 8) I have "Program Files" folder and then "Program Files(x86) - While placing all the folders and files as instructed in the "Program Files" section, but they were not working for me - sooooo - I thought "What have I got to lose?" I add the WHOLE Maxis folder (Transferring by copy/paste) into the Program Files(x86) folder - I select the PDBootstrap (Right click Run as Admin) and although I got the error "Maxis not found" it DID actually run the updates! So now it tells me "Your Client is Up to Date - Exiting"

I just wanted to share that, hope it helps - somehow :p :D

Hm.... no idea why that worked. o_O

Ok here's what happened .... I downloaded the new files and tried to start the game but it hung at 25%, ea unavail....
so I put the files back into regedit that I changed earlier, and the game started and ran like clock work ... works great. :D

Just released a new version (client's now at 1.0.8.0), which displays the client's version on the login screen, and makes the client read its version when launched from the bootstrapper (it didn't before, which was why it was "out of date" when launched from the bootstrapper).
Thank the maker I can now release updates at will without having everyone download from Github! :D

I installed TSO on my 32 bit system, no Maxis products were found. Also no manifest.

interesting... the "No Maxis products found" Error is caused by the registry on 64bit Systems... can you tell me where your Maxis\The Sims Online Entry is in your registry? It should be under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Maxis->The Sims Online
Yes, its there. The path is set to: V:\USB\EA GAMES\The Sims Online
The USB stick was in at the time...

It crashes on logining now for me.
Im the guy who has x64 version and it started crashing on logining after patched latest version.
And version login screen shows 0.1.8.0.

I just deleted the key that i created, so in my registry there's only the one left that the TSO Installer created unter Wow6432Node. But since i'm not getting the "No Maxis products found" Error anymore that should be fixed! :D

I've still got Version 1.1097.1.0 showing up on my login screen, and to make things every more confusing, It gives me the "client not up to date" error if i try and login after launching it from the shortcut the Project Dollhouse installer creates on my desktop. The funny thing is if I launch that exact "PDbootstrap.exe" from my "TSOClient" folder it works just fine and lets me login to my character selection and even the city. :|
