Original TSO Windows 7 Compatibility

I am attempting to run EA's TSO Setup on Windows 7 in VirtualBox, as I am a Linux user and developer interested in trying out what's been done with PD and possibly contributing.

However, I've met without success. What happens is, after the download completes, the screen simply turns black and the music plays in the background. I have to Alt+Tab my way out of it and force close it.

Are there known compatibility issues with Windows 7 and/or Virtualbox, and TSO? Has anyone encountered this problem?

TSO Installation Works on Windows 7 :) i have the ultimate x64 and it works
 
I haven't tried running the game in virtualbox... Make sure you've enabled the 3d acceleration and installed guest additions on the guest os.
 
I've tried various settings without success. I do not believe this is compatible with Virtualbox and will try running it in dualboot instead.

Just FYI - I have a new Macbook Pro & tried to run on VirtualBox with Guest additions & 3d acceleration on, graphics turned all the way up...Eventually was able to see the lot, but it was extremely laggy, flashing black, and crashed frequently. :eek:

Installing bootcamp now!
