I don't understand the no multi-sim rule

Sims start with no money, and no green. You still have to manually play them yourselves. You're putting in the same amount of work and effort as everybody else, the same amount of "clicks per reward". The game is too boring playing one sim and only one sim for some people.

How can you bring this game back and deny key features? Nearly every other sim I knew had 2-3 other sims they liked to play. Removing a feature this big is like removing trading from Diablo. (see Diablo 3 for how well that went(spoiler, it's the butt of all game jokes... 5 years later))

Anyway, it was fun and nostalgic playing again and I'd like to thank you all for the opportunity to play, esp RHY.

Edit: I just don't see how anybody could play with this few people and no multi-sims, your skill speed is molasses and your money earning amount is paltry at best. Just playing by myself I've seen other players who have multi sims but are hiding it.

Damnit, that was so much fun too. Just let me have my fun lol.

I'll make a deal. Let me play with my multi sims and I'll help squash bugs. Is there a github repo or something for this?

There is no way we will let you or anyone run multiple accounts.

Running multiple game clients does not make sense from any perspective. Not from an application design perspective, because having many windows open doing the same thing in multiple places is not intuitive. Not from a client perspective, since the game is designed to load just few enough resources to work once on a typical budget laptop with intel graphics. Not from a server perspective, because one user is inflicting many times the load of one person on the server. Not from a game design perspective, since you want people to be fully immersed in one game rather than open many (tso fails in this regard, but it can be fixed). Not from a social perspective, since the game is not just about earning money through 9 slave sim accounts - it is a social experience. (this reason also applies to afk money and skilling... try talking to people or playing online jobs)

Not from a fairness perspective, because users who do not multi-account will have absolutely no way of catching up to those who do, without doing something that is un-intutitive, server damaging, computer specification limited and that seems like cheating anyways. If it is something that is controversial as it seems unintended, it's something that will damage the game and split the community.

Many of these reasons were shared with TSO. The only reason they allowed it was money - there is no doubt that this kind of behaviour alongside botting destroyed the original game in the long term though. This same (lack of) money is what adds a few of our reasons against this, in our entirely freely hosted server.

Saying that this is a key feature is an insult to game design. I know old habits die hard, but seriously. I don't care how many people you think are hiding multi-sims, or how many people you claim are hiding multi-sims. "Everyone is doing it" is not an excuse, never will be, and is simply not true. We can see everything.

You're very correct. But to fix them all to an extent where playing only one sim would be "intuitive" would mean that FreeSO will be nothing like TSO. The core of the game design would have to change... Unless you're relying solely on the social aspect.

Anyway, thank you for the fun and hard work. I've found the FreeSO github repo and will just make an offline version for myself.

Refusing to change is what I expected, since I've unfortunately seen it way too many times for me to put up with. As long as you don't do it on the server.

its so hard to break with old habits just like with cutting yourself you know. ppl dont want change :/ can u make it this way so i couldnt get any fun out of the game rhys? plz plz plz

So I can have three machines with three accounts running? As long as my accounts are running on other computers?
