Indev and Infdev (scrapped)

Since no one can agree on a proper term for the lot and global server, I've thought maybe we could use Minecraft terms.
  • Indev for In Development refers to lot server.
  • Pre-Infdev for Pre-Infinite Development refers to the Final Checklist.
  • Infdev for Infinite Development refers to the global server or later.
Indev and Pre-Infdev for FreeSO would refer to the development of the varies core features of The Sims Online in FreeSO.

Infdev in Minecraft refereed to the procedurally generated terrain. Infdev in FreeSO would refer to infinite amount of updates for an open source project after the core features are implanted. Since Infdev would basically bug fixes, adding anything else missed in Pre-Infdev stage, and future updates.

I've always hated those names for minecraft, and "infinite" is kind of a stretch when it comes to our MMO server (limited map space, and I cant run 1000 lots open at once without mega infrastructure!). I haven't really sold myself into any kind of naming convention since I've just been using the build number, but since the mmo server builds are being called "public beta", I guess that would make everything before alpha.

I was thinking "infinite" more in terms of updates rather then the world itself.
