Is the Grass Tool not working on Sand lots?

Thats the question, is the grass tool not working on sand lots, or am i doing something wrong? I tried with shaping the same tiles over and over, with none key, with shift and with ctrl. It always let me pay some money (actually my testing did me cost ~ 300 $ now) but nothing happens. I would like to add some grass terrain, like its possible with water.

Currently the grass tool only works on grass lots. However, there are some "grass" carpets that you might be able to use to get the look you want.

Thanks for the answer yes i used some of them to build a garden, but the problem is i can´t place most Trees in there cause they "can only be build on terrain".

Well, I´ll guess this is not high priority so i will just work around and hope it will be fixed somewhat in the future

Actually the grass tool isn’t a grass tool. Your lot has two terrains on it. The easiest way to think of it is a grass terrain and a dirt terrain. The tool adds or removes the primary one (grass in this example), covering or revealing the secondary one (dirt in this example). In your case both primary and secondary are sand.

The second terrain reflects the terrain of the surrounding lots and you are surrounded by sand lots. If you move to a sandy lot that is next to a different terrain you can start painting that in for paths and whatnot
