My Project Dollhouse server

I would like to set up a server for Project Dollhouse after the first release; that way, people can have a choice between my server, other planned servers and the TSO2 (Project Dollhouse) original servers.
:D I will try it out soon, and host it with care ;)
I am planning on:
* 12 hours a day, 7 days a week
* Suggestions from the community (Mods , Expansion Packs, etc.)
* Using a Raspberry Pi as the server (it's got to be possible!=)
* ETC

Well, it won't be an official server, but I am considering it to be a TSO2 server.
Wish me luck on the port once the first edition is out!

= See my other threads for info!

It's a bit early, since the first "playable" version might be out in about a year or so from now, should no issues be present. Plus, who knows how many players there would be by that time to justify a multitude of servers. I do hope that there are plenty of players in the future, though.

I don't see anywhere in the website that says August 2013 as the release date for Project Dollhouse. Please link me to the source because I cannot find it.

(Got confused with NIOTSO, but I remember Afr0 saying somewhere that Tech Preview will be released in August 2013.)

But the tech preview isnt online if I'm correct?
Its just a Create a Sim screen, then you can jump into your lot and start building... Or am I wrong?

Hope so. Or at least also get somewhere with playing with others.

I agree Frankie! The game got sooooo dead after 2004 it was difficult to have fun at times. Personally I hope the community is condensed to one server. That's when it a blast and great competition to get the number one house in a lot category. Would be neat if all custom cities were listed when you had to choose a city. To me that would be just like playing in Test Center and having to patch over to play.

Don't make me report you...

You'd have to port the servers to Mono (shouldn't be too hard) - as far as running them on the hardware though, you'd be taxing the living hell out of it...

Tell me about it! After the newness wore off, half of the players left. On the plus side, the more players you have, the higher the chance of encountering players who enjoy ruining the game for others. I remember a few bullies who just couldn't stop creating new accounts after one would be banned/blocked. They weren't spammers, just pests.

You can easily overclock the system, and increase the ram.
Also, I'll probably host it on my laptop now :S

Trolling did get quite annoying. I got so fed up with it around 2005 I went back to Interhogan with some friends from AV and BF. I did enjoy TSO when servers would be at max capacity. Along with high population came high use of Ban List and Blocking players :lol:

You can't increase the RAM in Raspberry PI, it's part of the SOC soldered onto the motherboard. Xezno, your the one who brought the Tech Preview up, not anyone else, so report yourself.
