I remember watching you tubers start off with 20,000 in their sims account, but mine started with zero and I am unable to purchase a property?!
 
Yup. I had seen so many videos and got pumped to build a house but I guess that would litter the place with people who logged in once and took up a space. It's a pretty heavy grind at the moment, I just want to build a place with my friends :)
 
Yes - people abused the starting money.. You have to actually work for your money. This isn't China.
 
20,000 is a lot less than you think it is and, honestly, owning a property is not required to thrive in the game. If you look through discord and probably older messages here you'll find tons of people asking how to sell their property (which is not implemented yet).

I've had people hang out for a couple of hours chatting and BSing around while we play a round or two of Pizza (them learning as we go) and, despite having 0 skills, came away with enough to buy a plot of land.
