Remember E3 2002?

Well, probably not, but do you remember the E3 2002 videos with TSO? Well, promo aside, even though E3 TSO is nothing compared to what the production and beta wind up becoming, that doesn't mean it was all smoke and mirrors... I think this CAS was used for Betaville.

Very cool, I wonder if that beta version came with the Edith plugin or other development tools...

It's honestly more of an alpha, @Offredo95. It contains assets containing Sims 1 NHood, CAS, and the updater is more along the lines of PD's.

DevCheats.iff
Yup, defenly an alpha. Developers weren't kidding when they said they weren't cheats in the production version. Because that never appeared when unpacking the far files.

Oh,
QH0KD7Y.gif

and the iff files and resources for these were there too, including others seen in the original screenshots.

This is in the final game - Game Component - Soccer Net^ (GUID: 9BC14C46) and Ball - Soccer (GUID: B1D62F71). I don't think they were finished though.

Oh. Interesting. Couldn't tell since production version has a far bigger catalog. Anyway, DevCheats.iff has me interested. Fatbag wondered if Ctrl+Shift+C (if I'm right) is used like in it's predecessors and successors during gameplay. Would make sense.

It would also be interesting if there were a way to get into a debug screen without connecting to a server... You could always try plugging that DevCheats.iff into EA-Land's objects folder (assuming it's some kind of object) - it should load with the other files when loading objects with Edith if it works like I think it does...
