Running FreeSO on Win 98?

Hey,
I am aware that FreeSO is dependent on a number of programs like .NET 4 which aren't compatible with Windows 98. Is there any way I could use the old client, but connect to the new servers? Or is that not possible/incompatible?
Many thanks

It is *may* be possible to run FreeSO on Windows 98 with a program called KernelEx but TSO shutdown ages ago. There is no real way to connect to the new servers since there have been major engine changes and fixes that the old TSO would not even have.

I don't even know if Win98 can handle the right directx version required.... you can try it out, since KernelEx is decent at getting new software working on old hardware and computer operating systems.
