Server not up yet? :c

Remember that servers still take a time proportional to the uptime to connect to since state serialization is not a thing yet. This should change quite soon though.
Would that mean that we could run servers 24/7 after these changes are applied?
I'm asking because I can run the servers on my company's servers(if that wouldn't affect their performance too much and doesn't require constant reboots) or if required I could buy a separate server.
Note: I have little to no knowledge so my question probably sounds stupid to some of you.

We're going to run the official game servers when everything is ready. It simply wouldn't make sense for the game to use the old synchronisation method when lots are generally going to be open for several hours, so the game would be incomplete without it.

The changes have been merged but they're still a little unstable.

Thank you! That's great to know!
The idea behind me offering my servers is simply for test purposes(more game-test hours). 24/7 at that.
The way I understand your words is it's even too early for that.

PS: I'm following this project since I found out about it more than a year ago. The progress I see seems almost unbelievable to me.
Great job I should say!
Since you are on the "road to live release" already I think it's the right time to ask the following question:
Have you gone through the projected costs of launching and running the official servers as in initial investment and in the long term? Would that require funding and third party investors? If you prefer to not answer such questions in public feel free to PM me.

Thank you for your time,
Adrian

I checked the FreeSO Github recently and noticed Rhys pushed some changes to Charvatia - likely to corporate with the client again. So, I decided to try it out on my server and a picture worth a thousand words.

Yep, known bug. No idea why it happens though, and probably won't care until net code is changed to use Electron or a mystery 4th variant for sim<->client comms.

So, if I am reading that correctly, it'd take significantly longer to log into a server that has been up for, say, 48 hours, vs one that has been up for 2 hours? Or am I misunderstanding?

Edit: Or wait, was that already fixed? didn't realize that was a couple months ago.

also @RHY3756547 in case quoting your post didn't ping

It was fixed quite recently, yes.

The save state functionality isn't stable enough to allow persistent saves (blueprints would still work tho). The real MMO server is in development, and the standalone lot test server doesn't support anything special like auto saves or moderation, so it's not really possible for me to host either.

Do we have a ballpark for when everything will be ready or is it a while off?

Probably still a while off. Me and the other developer have other commitments, and I also need to finish off the IDE as it's a university solo project.

It's been succeeded by My Simulation which won't be opening until permissions are implanted.
