Something interesting...

Hello good morning, good afternoon and good night!
Today I learned for the facebook page Niotso Brazil would have the opportunity to be a beta before Christmas, I wonder if we will actually be possible to see this beta and the case is before Christmas which would be the day tomorrow? or the day after tomorrow? Thank you.

What?
If you're talking about Project Dollhouse, the aim is to go live before Christmas, yes. There are still a few days left. It won't be anywhere near a beta stage though. More like the first milestone...

Then the page was lying.
I don't get why people keep misunderstanding this. It must be because people whish I was further than I actually am.
The first milestone will consist of the ability to create characters, and log into the city. That's it.
Hell, the city isn't even working right now - the camera is upside down. Hopefully I can take care of that before release, but there probably won't be enough time to implement zooming or any actual camera movement.

I can just imagine a perfectly replicated city view, but the camera is upside down so you say "fuck it, doesn't work at all" and completely give up. :p

How did the port go, anyways? Did you find any more stupid shit that I did (like go out of bounds on an image when generating the mesh)?

The city rendering that is in right now is actually not my port, but something that Darren, the other team member coded from scratch. It works fine, except the camera is upside down (he had a version where he'd fixed the camera, but was using the same coordinates, so I'll have to try to wiggle the camera into place), and he could never figure out the blending. It also takes quite a bit of time to load.

I haven't had time to try to fix the port that I did of your code - I gave up when the camera didn't work and prioritized networking instead. I'll get back to your code when the file milestone is done. ;)

Edit: If it isn't obvious by now, my forte is networking, not graphics, so I tend to give up quite easily when something graphics related goes haywire :p

STEPS:
1. Get a new Gaming PC (I want Portal and it laaaaaags on my other computer :p)
2. Dont bother with Linux just get Windows
3. Skip the Windows crap and just install Project Dollhouse!(and TSO!)

Since your focus is networking will the instant messaging system be running, or is it more of just logging into the city.

Creating a character and logging into the city.
It looks like the code should be mostly finished tomorrow, with any luck.
That means I might be able to go live on Christmas Day, but somehow I have a feeling it's going to take more than a day to do it... we'll see!

Very Good job AfrO :p.

I've been reading through "The Sims Online" Prima's Official Guide, I have several copies... thumbing through the pages, getting excited when we go live, we have some very talented people making this happen. Salute :p
