TSO Registration / Product Activation?

Hi! Upon installing the tso installation client provided by EA, it asks me to sign up.
I opted to make a new account, and now it prompts me to use an activation key.
Is this completely necessary? Do I need a physical copy, or is there a way to bypass this stage?

Should I use the client that was released here in another thread? ( http://forum.afr0games.com/index.php?threads/version-0-1-23.403/ )

The key is not necessary, you can skip this step and simply wait until the installation is completed to 100% and yes u need to install the last Client 0.1.23.0 Version.
