Placing lights outside for me seems to switch lighting to indoor style lighting rather than Outdoor. (Much like what you explained.)Turning off and on lights outside tends to turn the sun on or off.

Will be fixed in next update. Indoor lights weren't zeroing out on outdoor rooms in some cases.Turning off or on lights outside tends to turn the sun on or off.
Yes, if rooms have no windows they will not consider the outside colour. They won't exactly appear pitch black though, the minimum room light is the outside colour adjusted to be around 33% darker than night.The lighting is still considerer windows???, if game is at day and there are not windows, there sohuld be dark rooms, or using lamps will make it look like at night..
Weather would be really cool! Though it most likely isn't much of a priority, weather expansions for later sims games seemed to be really well received. Weather would be a very cool addition that could all turn some heads towards FSO.But good work, i think is close to what is needed, also there will be some kind of extra coding for weather?? (a good adition)
Exception thrown: 'OpenTK.Graphics.GraphicsContextException' in OpenTK.dll
Failed to get context. Trying again...
Head = 3968549781519
Body = 3968549781519
Head = 4054449127439
Body = 4054449127439
I'm sure you will figure out a way.Weather could be an interesting gameplay change. The problem would be drawing it reasonably in isometric...

Next build will also silence OpenTK error while keeping garbage collection intact. Though I have a hunch that part of the reason these problems are occuring is that some textures are being created from the loading thread instead of the game thread.
It always blew my mind that The Sims Bustin' Out on GBA (and on PS2?) had at least sunny days and rain but we had to wait for Sims 2 Seasons to come out, just to get weather on the PC games. Of course in Seasons they introduced way more than just switching from sunshine to rain but still...Weather would be really cool! Would be really nice if FreeSO would get some sort of weather system
True but the "rain" in Bustin' Out was just cosmetic, it didn't do anything, it didn't even create puddles.Well to be fair Bustin Out was a different engine. Some things are truly limited by the engine.
Sims 1 was also a different story since it was the original series. I mean aging wasn't even a thing in The Sims 1.
Kinda the only time the original engine ever saw weather.Actaully every year around Christmas the entire world was often covered in snow, it overrided the lots so every lot was snow lot and it even had snow particles on the screen in the map view. So it's defeniately possible.
Not needed to use the grass, but of course will be better have a good quality terrain, also i was talking about weather based on the seasons mod for TS1, that works for lighting and floors: http://www.simlogical.com/sl/downloadpages/seasons.htmBefore we even think about snow, shouldn't we worry about getting the grass clippings/graphic particles watcha--ma-call-it to work all around the outside of a house first?
Interesting enough, certain plants or trees in FreeSO are already covered in snow. Not sure if it's still the case with the recent day/night cycle update.Not needed to use the grass, but of course will be better have a good quality terrain, also i was talking about weather based on the seasons mod for TS1, that works for lighting and floors: http://www.simlogical.com/sl/downloadpages/seasons.htm
