So some of you may have been wondering where FreeSO is, and the developers have been quite quiet about this (because they're fixing things and making sure everything is OK), but essentially it is as follows:
  • Registration servers are overloaded, due to both a high count of people and a surprise DDoS attack, but DDoS protection has since been added. You can register, but if it doesn't work don't keep trying - wait a few minutes between each attempt.
  • The city/lot/login servers are down completely, so logging in is impossible right now, and you're wasting your time with that.
  • Moderators have said that delays of up to seven hours are expected (7AM GMT) due to various fixes that need applying, which means you won't actually be able to play for a while.
UPDATE: It has since been announced that the API needs reworking, and it may take a matter of weeks to finish, therefore the beta launch has been postponed;

I'll update this post now and then with current news and information, feel free to post anything I've missed below. I advise joining the Discord at https://discord.gg/FXXDSkt where news will be posted by the moderators/staff/developers and can be quickly seen.

We have issues that require reworking some parts of our server code as in this state, it simply can't handle the load. This can't be fixed quickly, so we have to put this off for a while. Sorry. A blog post explaining what went wrong should be up shortly.

Very sad to hear that. Hopefully you are wrong and it won't take much time :) Im super excited to see the final version :p

Ah bummer! I'm glad we could at least help stress test the api. Good luck fixing up the code, I hope the changes aren't too intrusive.

i created a thread on a forum and it was completely OVERWHELMED with replies and expectation. you lost HUNDREDS of players with this delay.

please come down, its going to be awesome after the delay and this delay shouldnt be the reason we all lost you as a player, you would've been a great addition to the community. You all would and its sad to hear that you all are upset, but they really need time to fix that.
