Yeah I had the same problem at the night when people was testing it and you say that login server is not on same pc as it city server is?

offredo95 and bennerman: I guess transitioning to the city isn't... quite stable at the moment. It has been working for me all along (though the actual city only renders occationally - but it should change from the transitioning screen to the city view). I'll have to look into it.

Rhys: What? You had a sim selection button in the credits screen? o_O

liinor: Yes, they are running on the same server.

I just realized why people have been unable to activate the city view!
The DB code for the cityserver relied on the accounts table, which didn't get populated with the automatic account creation. Seems like the automatic account creation might need a rethink...

Anyway, I copied the data from the loginserver's accounts table manually, so everything should work now!

By the way, the servers are running now. The loginserver's been running fine all day, so hopefully it should run indefinately without crashing now. The bug seems to be really random though, so I added more try-catch blocks in case it strikes again so that it will hopefully produce a useful log.

I didn't release a new client yet (but I fixed the bug), so people who want to relog with their previously created accounts need to delete the CharacterCache folder to prevent the client from crashing. You should be able to transition to the city view now (hopefully...)

I'm able to get to my select a sim screen after logging in with my user info from yesterday.. I click to enter EJ and nada, no crash, no city entry. It lets me attempt to create a 2nd sim but won't allow the sim to be created when hitting the check mark. I'm guessing because I already have a sim registered to EJ..?

Hi I have attached a photo of an error I have occurring. I have already created an account and logged in fine till this morning when this error started occurring. I have deleted character cache folder and still have this issue. I tried loading the client in normal and administrators mode and it still did not work.

try Compatibility mode "Windows XP Service Pack 3" or "2" that solved my crashing at launching the .exe so maybe that'll work for u.

Nice work on the UCP and Gizmo! I like how you've already set up all the pages for gizmo, just a small bug though - it moves down when opening a tab.

I'm also getting a gray screen on the city. I've tried more than 5 times because you said that it's sporadic, but it's still gray each time, and changing the city position with debug mode doesnt make it any more visible. This is with both NVIDIA and Intel gfx.

You get the same background that I posted?

somehow made a 2nd sim in EJ, screen flashed, went back to mothership loading twice, then I got a server runtime error and crash, logged back in and this is my screen

Yes.

Don't know if this helps any, but after experiencing the same crashing problem after closing and relogging (with an existing character), I debugged the crash in VS and got this message:

Code:
Additional information: Guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).

Also, the first time I loaded city view, it showed terrain. The second time, it was a grey/black screen like previous posters had and then crashed a few seconds later. The third time, it was still grey/black but did not crash.

And in create-a-sim, it crashed the first time opening page 8 of outfits. My friend crashed opening page 5 of faces. The second time, no crashes.

When you type sim description to line and you don't press space at all on that line, text will continue outside description box.

Now that you mention it,First time for me too (I only ran it this one time)

I saw a grey screen (Computer had then hibernated and shut off for a while as i'm just now turning it back on)

And i viewed the game and saw only a little terrain. I saw terrain but it wasn't a view from the sky or something? Still some grey,But i saw some.
If it happens again,I'll snap a photo.

And one way to crash game is that you type text to somewhere and click in front of first letter and press backspace.
Atleast it worked in sim creating screen.
:D
