cnoi332, you managed to crash the server again (congratulations!) because you tried to create an account with a really weird character, and it couldn't create the account. Then when you proceeded to try to create a character, it couldn't associate the character with a non-existing account!
From now on you should get an error when trying to create an account with that name.

atleast i proved my theory

i didn't use a weird character tho


edit: game uses en keyboard im using another keyboard. that might be the problem. my name was cnnoi33 but i had to press ı to get i on the account screen.
 
Yeah, the character looked like a big I with a dot on top of it. What language are you using?

turkish

ı and i are different characters here
theres uppercase I and uppercase İ

when i write cnnoi33 in lowercase letters it shows up as CNNOİ33 instead of CNNOI33
 
Hey Afro,

Not trying to rush you or seem impatient. Just curious, do you have an approximate time-table for when we will have game-play?

Great work so far, btw. :)
 
Nope.
It'll take a while. But even if we won't have actual gameplay for another while, it would be possible to implement build tools and such without worrying about SimAntics. And that might happen, but that's still a while away.
New features are being added all the time though.

You can do that right now if you restart the game and relog after creating the first one!
 
Argh, this time it created the account, but it created it as cn?33. I need to find a way to sanitize characters so that special characters aren't allowed...

im using i and it's capitalizing it to İ instead of I. if you disable that people with same kind of keyboard as me wont be able to have a name with i in it
 
I downloaded the newest updater, which froze on one file. But completed the update after that. But i still get Invaild version.

The only version number i see is 1.1097.1.0
 
Did you choose yes to backup?
If so, the files will be in a folder called "Backup" in your TSOClient directory. Replace your files with the ones from the folder, and try again.
Let me know if the problem persists. Also, let me know if the updater created a log, as well as the contents of that log.
 
Found a bug! (i guess?)
Started the installation program and it installed nicely, then when I started PD, it asked me if I wanted to backup, I said no (cause I was thinking "what is there really to backup? any game save files? LOLNOPE) and then it started updating aaaaaaand it got stuck on purchasables.xml (i think).
I closed the process and then it said "There are no maxis products on your system" and "Could not find manifest - unable to update!" and its stuck on that now.

Delete the CharacterCache folder
