I'm not sure why it keeps freezing for you guys, but I'm going to implement UAC elevation today and/or tomorrow, and that should hopefully help.

Wtf? Yes, the client is in the installer.

My SRDDonkey account crashes on login at 75% while if my friend logs in with his on my client, it works just fine.

There's a folder called CharacterCache. Delete that and you'll be fine.

Since I guess no one saw it I'm gonna repost it

Found a bug! (i guess?)
Started the installation program and it installed nicely, then when I started PD, it asked me if I wanted to backup, I said no (cause I was thinking "what is there really to backup? any game save files? LOLNOPE) and then it started updating aaaaaaand it got stuck on purchasables.xml (i think).
I closed the process and then it said "There are no maxis products on your system" and "Could not find manifest - unable to update!" and its stuck on that now.

The backup is for the Project Dollhouse files, all of which are replaced during the update process. You're meant to activate the backup so that if something does go wrong the files can be restored, so you don't get stuck with errors like the manifest being deleted if it fails to update.

The files are downloaded from dropbox, so it's weird that it froze on one of them (dropbox is usually pretty reliable). Right now you should re-install Project Dollhouse and try the patch again.

OK, changes committed. I haven't been able to fix the sim display, since I'm not certain exactly how they work yet. It displays for 1 frame and then just doesn't bother...

Input still needs to be changed to give the UI priority.

It's also crashing after ever attempt to log back in.

I've kinda obsessed over a computer thats not mine,But how am i gonna update from an i think long ago update to latest! Im worried im gonna seriously be off track and go through lots of installation issues!


Edit:Its a Windows 8.1,And i dislike to be honest on my PC to play on there because when the computer over heats,it hibernates,And out of all the games i've ever played with serious graphics,this seems to take the quickest to hibernate.

Erm,I ran the PDBootstrap as administrator,And then showed a cmd for a few secs and closed,and then said the no maxis products error,and then asked about backing up before updating or something,and when i first pressed yes,it crashed. and then when i tried it again on no,it would show some updater,but then crash a little bit after.

The top part maxes out,yet continues showing KB moving along or some sort,but again crashed.


EDIT:So.. There was obviously wrong with the dropbox version one you gave me,because when i went on github,and got the installer directly,i tried that installer,and after i tried the PDBoostrap that time,It worked with no crashes. And now im up to date! one more thing,HANDS!!!!

Hi, I've been following your progress with PD, but have only just registered to the forum. I'm no good with the technical bits, but from what I can gather, other people that have logged into the servers are seeing their sim in city mode, and are able to see options when they click on the button. Whenever I click on the options button, it just zooms me into the city. This is the screen I am getting, after running PDBootstrapper
