You need to run FreeSO as admin (To help you out and make things easier you need to tick the properties of FreeSO's shortcut in the "Compatibility" tab.

You have to open a lot in FreeSO after launching the "Volcanic.exe" to trigger the Volcanic interface to appear. (I had the exact same issue so I had to ask for help, thankyou simsfreak :cool:)

Get rid of WinZip and download 7-Zip (completely free) it has no trial. If you are installing The Sims 1 on Windows 10 you have to get past the SecuROM protection (DRM). For the Sims online you will need to download the installer (since FreeSO uses a specific version I think) from EA's servers...

Your entire problem is caused by FreeSO not being able to find XAudio .dll's. All that is needed is for you to reinstall/install all optional DirectX 9.0c components. In Google, search for "directx web installer", it should be the first search result. Proceed to download and install DirectX...

You shouldn't worry, that's normal since EA's servers can be slow but it mainly depends on your internet connection I think.

nicefungirl had the same problem, its to do with your "InstallDir" registry entry. You need to change that to your current install of TSO.

If you are receiving a missing textures.xml file error when trying to launch FreeSO then you must download the latest GS installer that is currrently on play.freeso.net and try again.

Autumnrose, try re-extracting the "GSInstaller-1-5-17.zip" file into a folder by right clicking the .zip file and select "Extract all". Then run the application in the extracted folder.

The launcher is in an unbelievably polished state. I have never seen such community spirit for a game such as the FreeSO community. :D From launchers to blueprints for house and the whole project in it self.
