The fire object is broken in NSO N&I. Not sure why...
I remember that players couldn't get interactions with Fire unless you had the Betaville patch (And lived in Betaville), which was 10MB, and that's what the Free Will button was for.

Sidenote: Betaville NEVER actually opened its doors until 2005, since that was when the Prototype of the Free Will option was released, I found an article documenting it on TSOMania.

@LetsRaceBwoi, I think it's kinda obvious that it's a typo.

Rhys, are you going to experiment with unlimited floors? Even if it won't make it to the final game, it would be cool to see something like that.
Yep, it will definitely even work the way things are now, with the only real problems being performance and the UI/certain strings only catering for two floors. I discussed this here last year:

Um i think is a bad idea, the world rendering engine is not perfectly optimized for attempt this, maybe you can try like up to 5 floors, otherwise i think game will freeze constantly..

Yes, considering objects, walls and ground tiles on all floors must be rendered this could be a terrible idea without conservative sprite list caching, static buffers (which we will have) and very optimised sprite list generation (which we do not have). The max will definitely be 4/5 floors, only for donating users who are literally paying for the extra server resources they're taking up.

Remember that if we have a ton of floors, people will want to fill them with objects, which will cause more server strain when those lots are active. One option is to offer alternative lot expansion modes, where users can choose to add floors to make a taller building, or add space around to make a wider one (classic), but not both.

I personally would donate for things like this. But I will be donating regardless just to play someone has to pay the server bill and I will very happily pay per month a donation with the basic standard game. I do not personally like the idea of Afr0 and Rhys making up the server bill id rather contribute. But will their be a way to donate directly instead of buying the mug and tshirt I purchased with the Dollhouse logo on. I would like to donate now but where I am moving abroad my expenses are too high to afford to donate as much as I wish I could. How will the server funds be paid will their be a option to donate in Bitcoin? Will their be a option to tip Fatbag, Rhys, Afr0 and all the others who made this possible a donation in Bitcoin that is for their own personal use not to pay the server bill but a donation to say thank you for the 100s of hours they have spent doing this without pay that they deserve to be rewarded for.

Thank You for all the efforts you have all put in towards this. Thank You I hope to be able to code to the standard required to contribute code to this project within the next 2 years my only worry is it be already finished and my efforts to learn to code will not be able to be used towards this. Sadly currently I can not do it as I go into hospital in next week for operation and learning a foreign language takes time currently. Unlike most people here I am in my mid 20s and not a teenager.

Just to prove it's possible, here's a quick 5 floor building I spent too long making:

If you're wondering how he got up there, I used a series of elevators. Here's a GIF:

Proved as a helpful testing ground for finding build tool bugs on other levels, though. ;)

So epic, just something to say, what happen if latest level get out screen (gray area) ?? 3rd or more floor level, are considerer for wall objects in right position??

All objects, walls and floors work as expected, since they're literally just the same with a y offset. Still draws past the gray area, z buffer is still functioning correctly with 5 floors.

@RHY3756547 Also do you still think the object limit should be around 200-250 per lot?
The original game had that object limit per roommate in a lot. We might need to enforce this depending on how intensive this actually turns out to be.

Bob want to return to his house, but something weird is happening, fences can be painted, and house looks small:

Oh. I was gonna say, Betty is gone but the fences work too. Just think if this was Betaville, this house, with Bob and Betty then an entire family just randomly came over.

Project Dollhouse is a literal dollhouse. The grass is made of plastic.

I've been avoiding donation and contributions talk because I don't want to disappoint anyone if we don't finish this, and I don't feel comfortable with other people having a monetary stake on the project as it is. The current merch is likely paying for the city server's hosting (I think, Afr0 hasn't really discussed this with me) but I'm even conflicted about that because we're running a low functionality server on a high power machine (and will be till the sim server is up and running), and our name and logo might even change, invalidating the merch!
