    simitone help?

Alt + Enter makes Simitone fullscreen (works for FreeSO as well). A lot of other games also use the shortcut to go fullscreen as well.

    Legality

FreeSO is technically legal since it reuses The Sims Online's assets. FreeSO is a complete re-implementation of TSO and SimAntics. TSO can be downloaded from EA's servers for FREE meaning that TSO is technically free for anyone to play. Pretty cool stuff.

How to get into sandbox mode?

Double-click on a lot in the Sandbox selection menu. You should get transported to a empty lot (or a premade one from TSO).

    exclusive fullscreen

To set the resolution to 800x600 (or 1024x768 etc) you must edit the config.ini file located where FreeSO is installed. By default FreeSO should be installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeSO\ In the Content folder, there should be the config.ini file.

    exclusive fullscreen

Press Alt + Enter to enter fullscreen. I have to do this every time I start FreeSO. Many games now support Alt + Enter. It is becoming almost the equivalent to Alt + Tab. Pressing Alt + Enter when in fullscreen makes the application become windowed again.

    Windows 10 Version 1809

I am running Windows 10 Professional on 1809. FreeSO works fine for me in both OpenGL and DirectX mode.

    FreeSO Updater Error

The game needs to be run as administrator to update. I make sure that the game is running as administrator through the compatibility tab of the shortcut to FreeSO (the FreeSO launcher should automatically do this).

FreeSO Launcher stuck extracting client files

Ummm.... you really should not be installing the game into a network location. Are you sure you know that is what you are doing? Select another directory when installing the game, when you choose to install The Sims Online it will ask you where you want to install it.

Can't receive money by doing activities

You should download the remesh package that is provided in the launcher. It willl clean up a lot of the models present in the 3D mode (such as the gnome station and the art easel) For the issue with earning money, I don't have any advice on that sadly :(

    FreeSO on Mac

Eventually the FreeSO Launcher will be available to install on Mac. It should be less complicated to manage everything. But as it stands right now, you just have to live with the complicated steps.

Can't play with OpenGL/DirectX and too much lag with System

Update your DirectX components, since some could potentially could be missing. Also make sure to plug in a pair of headphones and set the right speaker in Playback Devices (right click on the speaker icon) I attached the file in a .zip package since the micorsoft's website may not work for you.

USING THE NEW EA-LAND SPLASH SCREEN IN FREESO

FreeSO had used this splash image for a while, it got boring after a while IMO. It is also branded for EA-Land, not FreeSO which is partly why it was discontinued from use. Although it is good that you are willing to provide it to people if they want to use it :D You can also get the original...

    FreeSO On Linux Natively

You may have to force TTS on to do all of the messages in chat, otherwise you (or other people) have to have it enabled in the launcher/config.ini file

    MAJOR Lag problem

There is server lag and then there is client lag (computer performance not up to spec). Changing your graphics settings in-game can help speed up the performance of your game but not the Global server. Un-ticking "Anti-Aliasing" usually can help in the graphics options. The three dots on the...

    The game's UI

You could change the UI Textures in the actual The Sims Online executable. But I don't know exactly how, you could use a program to replace the texture/image(s) :D

Make sure to set the right speakers to default (the one you intend to use).

    Running FreeSO on Win 98?

It is *may* be possible to run FreeSO on Windows 98 with a program called KernelEx but TSO shutdown ages ago. There is no real way to connect to the new servers since there have been major engine changes and fixes that the old TSO would not even have. Download Page...
